Athena Foods' bovine production plant in Ciénaga de Oro, Córdoba became the first in the country to be certified under the global food safety standards of the British Retail Consortium Global Standard (Brcgs) with an AA rating.
Obtaining this seal of international recognition certifies the ability of this plant to produce a safe, authentic, innocuous and legal food; factors in direct relation to one of the three key elements of the Athena Foods sustainability model: defending product quality and respect for life.
It is worth noting that, in order to obtain this seal, which is valid for one year due to the AA rating obtained in this case, the Ciénaga de Oro team designed a strategy focused exclusively on structuring a work plan aimed at fulfilling the different aspects that this certificate demands. Thus, each work area managed to perfect its processes according to the Brcgs guidelines and based on its knowledge and experience.
Athena Foods, a Minerva Foods company, a leader in the production, commercialization and export of beef worldwide from Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay; celebrated the obtaining of this important certificate in food safety because, in addition to constituting an essential factor for the company, it is the result of teamwork where all areas of the plant worked in a coordinated manner, thus achieving compliance with the requirements of the standard.
